For what it's worth I agree with you that missiles are not overpowered - none of the strongest fleets I have ever created in this game, which are the 5 ships vs 5 Ordos fleets, used missile spam as a strategy. I absolutely agree that it is too easy to amass missiles these days while also them incredibly difficult to shoot down (both in the same skill, in fact).
